PARTS of SPEECH
In linguistics, grammar is the set of structural rules governing the composition of clauses, phrases, and words in any given natural language. The term refers also to the study of such rules, and this field includes morphology, syntax, and phonology, often complemented by phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics.
SENTENCESA set of words that is complete in itself, typically containing a subject and predicate, conveying a statement, question, exclamation, or command, and consisting of a main clause and sometimes one or more subordinate clauses.

PUNCTUATION
Punctuation is "the use of spacing, conventional signs, and certain typographical devices as aids to the understanding and correct reading, both silently and aloud, of handwritten and printed texts."

NOUNSA word (other than a pronoun) used to identify any of a class of people, places, or things common noun, or to name a particular one of these proper noun.

ADJECTIVESA word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.

VERBSA word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence, such as hear, become, happen.

ADVERBSA word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc.

HOMONYMSA word that has different meanings. In the strict sense, one of a group of words that share the same spelling and/or pronunciation but have different meanings. (this can get even more complicated: homophone & homograph)

ROOTS & AFFIXES
A morpheme (smallest unit of language) or a beginning/ending that can be ended to a (root/base) word to change it's meaning. Many of these have different origins such as Latin, Greek & French
